Google showed off its next-generation mobile operating system, Android 12, at its annual developers’ conference, Google I/O 2021. Shortly after the event, Google also released the first public beta version of its upcoming Android 12 mobile OS. Importantly, Google has released a list of smartphones that will get Android 12 first. So, is your smartphone on the list? It is quite long and among the mentioned ones are Asus Zenfone 8, Google Pixel 3, OnePlus 9, Oppo Find X3 Pro, Realme GT 5G, iQoo 7 Legend, Xiaomi Mi 11, Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro and more. For those who are new, the Android 12 public beta update lets users get their hands on the beta version of Google’s upcoming mobile OS. The beta update is not the final version of the OS that users will see at the end when the company officially rolls it out to smartphones across the globe. But it is close. It may well be riddled with bugs which Google will iron out before the final release. Apart from fixing bugs, Google will also test and add new features to it.

Now, while rolling out the first public beta version of Android 12, Google shared a list of all the devices that will be able to access this update. Simply said, only select users with eligible smartphones can access this update. The list includes select smartphones by companies such as Asus, Google, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Vivo, Sharp, Tecno, TCL, Xiaomi, and ZTE. “Note that each partner will handle their own enrollments and support, and provide the Beta updates to you directly,” Google wrote on its support page.

When will Google roll out Android 12?

As far as the timeline of the rollout is concerned, Google will be releasing the second and third public beta versions of its Android 12 in July and early August. The company, as per its schedule, will be rolling out the stable version of Android 12 to smartphones across the globe around the end of August or the beginning of September.
