Google Pixel 5a renders show familiar design

Google’s next Pixel smartphone will most likely be the Pixel 5a. We haven’t heard much about this phone but renders of what’s supposed to be the Pixel 5a have been revealed.

OnLeaks (Steve Hemmerstoffer) has posted a bunch of renders of the Pixel 5a on the community platform Voice. The renders reveal a very familiar design which looks almost like the Pixel 4a 5G. There’s a single punch-hole camera up front, a rear fingerprint sensor and dual rear cameras stacked in a square-shaped design. The phone is black in colour with the power button in white, and volume rockers sitting below it.

The Voice post also has some details on what to expect from the Pixel 5a. It will have a unibody design with a possible plastic body. It will feature a 6.2-inch OLED FHD+ display, a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. OnLeaks also suggests that not just the design but the specs are also going to be similar to the Pixel 4a 5G. With not many differences, it’s interesting to see what Google plans to offer with the Pixel 5a. Google is also expected to debut the Pixel 6 series later this year which could come in a refreshed design.

Launched last year with the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a, the Pixel 4a 5G comes with a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It has a 12.2-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone packs a 3,800mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
