Google Pixel 6 camera feature may let you erase people, things in photos

Google Pixel 6 camera feature will help users to remove objects or people from a photo that they have just clicked. It will surely come in useful when someone photobombs you.

Google continues to tease details about its upcoming Pixel 6 series smartphones that will include Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones. While the official Google Pixel 6 launch date has not been shared officially as yet, it has already given us a glimpse of how its Pixel 6 series smartphones will look and shared one of the phones’ major features -- Google’s Tensor system-on-chip. Ahead of the Pixel 6 series launch, reports have detailed an interesting feature that will be available in the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro smartphones at the time of launch. This new feature has to do with the Google Pixel 6 camera.

The Google Pixel 6 camera is expected to pack an 8MP selfie camera. At the back, it is expected to come with a 50MP primary camera with Samsung’s GN1 sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with Sony’s IMX386 sensor. The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, is tipped to sport a 12MP selfie camera with Sony’s IMX 663 sensor. At the back, the Pixel 6 is tipped to feature a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera with Samsung’s GN1 sensor, a 12MP ultra wide-angle camera with Sony’s IMX386 sensor and a 48MP telephoto lens with Sony’s IMX586 sensor.

Now, according to a report by XDA Developers, the upcoming Google Pixel 6 series will have a a special “Magic Erase” feature. This feature will be built in Google Pixel’s new Camera app codenamed “Swiss”. Google Pixel 6 Magic eraser, as per the report, will be a post-processing effect. It is expected to help Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users remove objects or people from a photo that they have just clicked.

In addition to this, the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro smartphones will also get a new “Face Deblur” feature. Pixel 6’s Face Deblur feature will let users click multiple images from the main sensor and combine them into a single HDR image. At the same time, the Pixel 6 smartphone will also use its ultra-wide-angle lens to capture sharper images. The Pixel 6’s TPU will then use facial details from the images captured using the phone’s ultra-wide-angle lens to deblur the face in the HDR image.
