Huawei Mate 40 series to arrive on October 22

Huawei is gearing up for a major launch event. The company will be launching its Huawei Mate 40 series smartphone at a special event on October 22.

The news was announced by Huawei Consumer Business CEO and Huawei Executive Director Richard Yu via a post on Weibo. The post he shared confirmed that the company will be launching the Mate 40 series smartphones on October 22 on at 8PM local time.

The background image in the invite has trees and the sky being viewed through a well. A separate video shared by a Twitter user shows the same invite being seen within the iris of a woman. While this doesn’t reveal much about Huawei’s upcoming smartphone, it does indicate that the Mate 40 series will presumably come with major upgrades to its telephoto lens.

Coming to the specifications, as per a report by Digital Chat Station, the Huawei Mate 40 series will come in three variants. While the vanilla Mate 40 is codenamed as Ocean, the Mate 40 Pro is codenamed as Noah and the premium Mate 40 Pro+ is codenamed as NOP-AN00. All the three Mate 40 variants are tipped to be powered by Google’s Android operating and come with 5G connectivity.

Additionally, a separate report by PriceBaba says that the Mate 40 Pro will come with a quad-rear camera setup that is housed inside a circular camera module. On the front, the phone is tipped to get a dual-camera module that is placed in a capsule-shaped camera module, which in turn is placed towards the left side of the screen. The phone is also tipped to come with a 6.7-inch edge-to-edge display with a metallic chassis.
