JioPhone Next not tempting? Check these alternatives from Redmi, Poco, Realme

JioPhone Next has gone on sale and despite all the hype, it is not the most affordable option. It’s also not the most exciting one; it’s rather bland compared to what the competition offers. Moreover, getting it in EMI will only increase the price, and could lock the device if you default on your payment. Hence, if you are willing to buy the JioPhone Next for yourself, or your kid, or gifting someone their first phone, you need to look at the alternatives that you get for a similar price point.

Redmi 9A Sport

The Redmi 9A Sport starts at INR 6,999 for the base variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. You get a faster Helio G25 chip, a bigger 5000mAh battery, and a larger 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display. The phone lacks a fingerprint sensor but gets face unlock. You can use two SIM cards with 4G VoLTE on both slots.

Poco C31

The Poco C31 starts at INR 8,499 and offers a similar feature set to the Redmi 9A Sport. However, for the extra money, you get a dedicated fingerprint sensor, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. You also get a triple rear camera setup and a faster Helio G35 chipset. This is one of the best options in this segment.

Realme Narzo 50i

The Realme Narzo 50i costs INR 7,499 and comes with 2GB RAM as well as 32GB storage. The You get a 5000mAh battery, an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The processor isn’t meant for high performance but for generic smartphone tasks, this should suffice.

Motorola Moto E40

At INR 9,499, the Moto E40 is a lot more expensive than the JioPhone Next. However, you get a much better phone with stock Android interface. The Unisoc T700 chipset is fast, the 48MP rear camera is better than the JioPhone’s unit, and the 5000mAh battery can sustain the phone for an entire day. Oh, and you also get a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.
