Oppo A78 to launch tomorrow; Chip, camera, battery to price, here is what to expect

Oppo is all set to launch its first phone of the year 2023 in India. This is the Oppo A78 5G. The phone will be launching in India on Monday, January 16, 2023. Informing about the same Oppo India tweeted, "The era of 5G has dawned upon us, and it’s time to experience superior connectivity and blazing-fast speed with #OPPOA78 #5G. Arriving soon at super speed!"

Notably, Oppo has recently launched the A78 5G in Malaysia and its complete list of specifications is out. The phone gets a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset coupled with Mali-G7 MC2 GPU. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with support from 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Wondering if the device will be launching in India with the same specifications and features?

Well, the company has not revealed much about the features and specifications on the Oppo A78 5G that will be sold in India. However, the phone will be equipped with the same battery capacity and charger as in Malaysia. The Oppo A78 5G will be powered by 5000mAh battery along with 33W SUPERVOOC charger.

Also, Oppo is yet to reveal the price of this handset but it is expected to be launched under the budget segment and can come with a price tag of Rs. 19000.

The phone launched in Malaysia sports a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP monochrome camera sensor. The smartphone also features an 8MP selfie camera. The Indian variant of the device is also expected to offer the same camera specifications.

Meanwhile, it can be known that Oppo had recently launched a special edition of its Reno 8 Pro 5G in collaboration with Warner Bros. This limited edition device is based on the TV series named ‘House of Dragon’ and it is named as the “Dragon Limited Edition Set". The special edition smartphone is priced at Rs. 45999.
