Looks like Redmi will follow the same strategy it had adopted with Redmi K30 series. As the report points out, Redmi had launched K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom shared identical specifications. The Zoom variant, however, offered better camera features.

In the case of the new lineup, Redmi K40 Pro could be one of the new models to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888. A Redmi K40 Pro Zoom could be the other model to have the same chipset. Though there is no word on the Zoom edition of the K40 yet.

Apart from the new chipset, Redmi has also confirmed that the phones will offer battery capacity “more than 4,000mAh”. The starting price of the K40 series will be 2,999 Yuan ( 34,000 approximately).

That said, the K40 series will succeed the K30 series, which launched in China in December 2019. It was also one of the cheapest 5G capable smartphones then. Later, Poco introduced X2 in India. The handset was said to be a repackaged Redmi K30.
