Samsung Galaxy A82 to launch as Galaxy Quantum 2 on April 23

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones. It is now expected to launch the Galaxy A82 as the next phone from its Galaxy A series. This phone is said to launch as ‘Galaxy Quantum 2’ in South Korea, and the launch will reportedly take place on April 23.

Images of the phone along with details on its specs and launch date have been leaked on South Korean blog Naver. Galaxy A82 aka Galaxy Quantum 2 is spotted in white with three cameras at the back. It looks similar to the Galaxy S21+ and one image even shows both the phones together. The smartphone has a curved display which is said to have a full HD+ resolution.

According to this leak, Galaxy A82 will come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, and it will pack a 4,500mAh battery. The phone’s triple camera setup will feature a 64-megapixel primary camera. Galaxy A82 will also feature a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip for data encryption on the phone. This will however be limited to Samsung’s home market. Samsung launched the first Galaxy A Quantum smartphone last year in partnership with SK Telecom.

There’s no confirmation yet but the specs revealed in this leak match with those for the Galaxy A82. The leaked images also confirm that Samsung will not continue with the rotating camera design, and instead go with the punch-hole camera for the Galaxy A82.
