Samsung Galaxy Quantum2 with QRNG chip launched

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Quantum2, its second smartphone with quantum cryptography technology. The smartphone has been made official in Korea, and it will be offered by SK Telecom. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy A Quantum, this one too will most likely be exclusive to Samsung’s home turf. But there are reports suggesting that it could launch as Galaxy A82 in other markets.

The highlight of the Galaxy Quantum2 is that it is equipped with the world’s smallest quantum random number generator (QNRG) chipset. “This QRNG chipset allows smartphone holders to use services that require security in a more safe and secure manner by generating unpredictable and patternless true random numbers,” SK Telecom said in a statement.

As for the rest of its specs, Galaxy Quantum2 features a 6.7-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 1TB. It packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging.

There’s a triple camera setup on the Galaxy Quantum2 which includes a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel secondary camera, and a 5-megapixel tertiary camera. For selfies, the Galaxy Quantum2 has a 10-megapixel selfie camera. On the software front, Galaxy Quantum2 runs Android 11-based One UI out-of-the-box.

The smartphone is priced at KRW 699,600 ( ₹47,200 approx). Galaxy Quantum2 can be pre-ordered now, and it will be available to purchase on April 23 in Korea.
