Samsung is gearing up for its August 5 ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event where it is going to showcase Galaxy Note 20 series. The company is also going to announce a new foldable smartphone, dubbed as Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Ahead of the official launch, Galaxy Z Fold 2 details have leaked online. According to leaks, the Galaxy Fold successor will have a 7.7-inch display when fully opened. The company will reportedly use an S-AMOLED screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung is also going to use Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) coating or better screen protection.
Samsung’s new foldable phone will also offer a larger secondary display at 6.23-inches. The screen will have up to 60Hz refresh rate. Both the displays will have a punch-hole camera module on the front.
According to leaks, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 will have a 10-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, it will have a three-camera setup featuring a 12-megapixel, a wide-angle sensor of 12-megapixel, and a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor.
Samsung will also double down on the performance of the new foldable phone. Galaxy Z Fold 2 is said to run on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 865+ processor and offer 5G connectivity as well. The phone is going to offer a 4,365mAh battery with 25W fast charging. Samsung is also going to offer a cheaper 256GB storage variant of the phone.
Apart from Galaxy Z Fold 2, Samsung is also going to showcase an upgraded version of Galaxy Z Flip. The upgraded model is expected to come with 5G connectivity.
Other important announcements expected at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event include new Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Earbuds, Tab S7 and S7 Plus.
