Samsung launches a premium variant of Galaxy Z Fold 2 in China

Samsung has launched a new variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in China with a new name, and a slightly taller body. It’s called the Samsung W21 5G and it’s exactly like the regular Galaxy Z Fold 2 but with some minor differences.

The Samsung W21 5G foldable smartphone is priced at 19,999 CNY ( ₹2.23 lakh approx) in China. The smartphone comes in a gold colour with a textured design on the exterior. It is available for pre-orders in China through Samsung’s online store. Samsung has partnered with China Telecom for the W21 5G smartphone which offers dual-SIM support. It has a dual-SIM slot unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 2 where one is an eSIM.

In terms of specs, the Samsung W21 5G has a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, and a 6.23-inch Super AMOLED display on the outside with Gorilla Glass Victus on top. The screen sizes are the same but the Samsung W21 has a slightly taller body. The smartphone is also powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Like the Galaxy Z Fold 2, this one too has a triple camera setup featuring three 12-megapixel sensors. It has a 10-megapixel front camera, and a 10-megapixel cover camera. The Samsung W21 also packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 25W wired and 11W wireless charging. More features on the Samsung W21 include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5G, Bluetooth 5.0, and a USB Type-C port.

Samsung also sells the Galaxy Z Fold 2 in China that has a lower price tag of CNY 17,000 ( ₹1.89 lakh approx). The Samsung W21 5G is said to come with perks like concierge services.
