Samsung to soon launch 4G variants of Galaxy S21 series

Samsung is reportedly working on 4G LTE version of its new Galaxy S21 smartphone series. The company has not yet revealed the official launch date, but the LTE version has made an early appearance on Bluetooth SIG certification site.

According to GSMArena, the SIG listing features SM-G990F and SM-G990F_DS model numbers. These model numbers are different from SM-G991X model numbers of the S21 5G.

It is worth noting that all the three models in Samsung’s new Galaxy S21 series come with 5G support. In India, Samsung has launched the 5G versions. The LTE models, however, are going to be available in markets where 5G infrastructure is not available right now. The 4G models are likely to cost lesser than their 5G counterparts.

As of now, there is no word on whether the LTE variants will come with a different set of specifications. We are likely to find out more about the new versions in the coming days.

Just a quick recap: Samsung earlier this month launched the Galaxy S21 series. The lineup features Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The smartphones will go on sale in India on January 29 with a starting price of ₹69,999.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, the high-end model in the new series, starts at ₹1,05,999. The handset comes with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an octa-core processor that is coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra offers a 12MP + 108MP + 10MP +10MP camera setup at the back. On the front, it has a 40MP selfie camera. It runs on a 5,000mAh battery with support Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 technology.
