The Redmi Note 11 Pro is said to become the Xiaomi 11i whereas the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will become the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge.

Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge: That is the name of Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone for India, which is likely to be a replacement for the ageing Xiaomi Mi 10i. And similar to the previous year, this one will be based on a Redmi Note model from the Chinese market; the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ in this case. The “HyperCharge” tag also suggests that Xiaomi might be among the first few companies to bring 120W fast charging to India.

This leak was shared Kacper Skrzypek, who dug deep inside MIUI codes to stumble upon this discovery. In fact, Xiaomi India could be bringing two models this time with varying charging speeds. The Redmi Note 11 Pro is said to become the Xiaomi 11i whereas the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ will become the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge.

Xiaomi 11i series heading to India with big upgrades

Sadly, the leak did not share an expected timeline for these launches, hence we could be waiting until the New Year for these phones to launch in India. These models are likely to replace the Mi 10i in India, which itself was based on last year’s Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G from China.

Despite the change in names, the biggest gain for Indian consumers is likely to be the 120W fast charging system. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ brings 120W fast charging that promises a full charge in 15 minutes. Although Xiaomi’s previously launched Mi 11 Ultra also supported 120W charging, it never came to India for regulatory reasons.

The standard Redmi Note 11 Pro, which is supposed to be the XIaomi 11i, is likely to get the 67W fast charging solution. It was about time Xiaomi brought these features to India as rivals like Realme, Oppo and Vivo have long been offering faster charging solutions.

Since the phones could be largely identical to the Redmi Note variants, these are our expectations.

- Both phones will support 5G, courtesy of the MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chip.

- Both phones could offer 120Hz 1080p AMOLED displays.

- Both phones could offer a 108MP main rear camera as standard this time.

- A 5160mAh battery on the Xiaomi 11i and a 4500mAh battery on the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge.

- 67W charging on the Xiaomi 11i and 120W charging on the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge.
