Xiaomi Mi 11 with Snapdragon 888 SoC, 108MP camera, 2K AMOLED screen launched

We are three days away from 2021 and in the middle of the holiday season. But, Xiaomi seems to have been working hard and has made its last yet major smartphone launch of the year. The firm today launched its flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 11 in China. The device starts at 3999 yuan (roughly ₹45,000) for the 8GB+128GB. There’s also 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB variants. All three come in Black, Blue, Smoke Purple and White colours. The 12GB+256GB model additionally comes in Lei Jun Signature Edition as well.

The highlight in this one is the inclusion of Qualcomm’s 2021 flagship processor, Snapdragon 888. This is also the first phone in the world to feature this 5nm processor. The octa-core 5G chipset was launched earlier this month and includes Adreno 660 GPU with 6th-gen AI engine.

Measuring 164.3x74.6x8.06mm, the Mi 11 weighs 196 grams. Besides LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, the handset comprises of a 6.81-inch WQHD (3200 x 1440 pixels) resolution AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, P3 colour spectrum and Corning gorilla Glass Victus. It is the second smartphone after Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series to feature this Gorilla Glass protection.

There is a 108-megapixel primary rear camera with 1/1.33-inch large sensor, 7P lens and f/1.85 aperture in addition to a 123-degree wide-angle 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 5-megapixel telephoto/macro lens. The cameras support 8K video recording at 24/30fps as well. At the front, you get a 20-megapixel camera.

Backing the handset is a 4600mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+ fast charging support. It can handle up to 55watt wired fast charging along with 50watt wireless fast charging and 10watt reverse wireless charging. Running inside is Android 11-based MIUI 12.5.

Some additional features include Harman Kardon dual stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6 support and IR sensor.
