Apple has admitted that a serious malfunction in some units of the Apple Watch 6 units may cause the display to go blank- PERMANENTLY. However, Apple has promised to provide free service to fix these Apple Watch series 6 smartwatches whose display is not working. Here is what you must do.

According to MacWorld, the complaints regarding the blank display in Apple Watch Series 6 smartwatches started popping up last year. While Apple has admitted to the fault, the company is also stressing on the fact that a very small number of smartwatches have been affected. (Apple)

Apple has started a free repair program for the faulty smartwatches and it only applies to Apple Watch 6 40mm smartwatches which were manufactured between April and September 2021. Apple has asked users to enter their watch’s serial number in a widget on the Apple support pages, to check if they are eligible for a free service. (Apple)

Although Apple hasn’t announced an end date for the free repair program, the company has stated the affected watches are eligible for repair for up to 2 years from the date of purchase. Therefore, it is best advised to send your affected watches for repair immediately. (REUTERS)
