Google Meet video call: How to share your screen

Google Meet is one indispensable tool that is used by millions of people across the world. It is used by students and working professionals for meetings, online classes, conferences and more. Google Meet has been seeing an uptick in its user base ever since the pandemic started. Accordingly, it has also continuously added new features and updates. One useful feature on Google Meet is the ability to screen share.

Google Meet lets you share your screen for presentations during meetings. This makes it easier to explain certain things that may otherwise require a physical room. Users can share their screen from the desktop app, Android and iOS apps of Google Meet. The process is quite easy, and requires only a few steps. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to share your screen during a Google Meet call.

On computer

Join a Google Meet video call, and click Present now from the bottom menu.

Select Your entire screen, A window, or A tab. You can choose to share either of the three options.

Then just hit Share and others will be able to see your screen.

On Android, iOS

Join a Google Meet video call.

Tap the screen and select the three-dotted menu.

Tap Share screen and then Start Sharing.

Here are some things to note about sharing your screen on Google Meet. If you present a Chrome tab then the tab’s audio will be turned on by default. You can also present a different tab by selecting that particular one and then clicking Share this tab instead. You can also view your presentation as a tile by clicking the Unpin option. Also, do note that if your camera is turned on then your video will be active while you’re presenting. Once you’re done with the presentation you can simply click Stop Presenting to stop sharing your screen.
