After Epic store, GTA V high volumes bring down developer Rockstar Games' services

Specifically, Rockstar Games announced that its Rockstar Games Launcher and GTA V for PC was facing issues due to ‘extremely high player volumes.’

GTA V or Grand Theft Auto 5, one of the most popular titles launched by Rockstar Games was recently made free for a limited time on Epic's online store. While the rush to get the game for free brought down Epic's online portal, it is now bringing down the developer's services as millions start playing the game. Specifically, Rockstar Games announced that its Rockstar Games Launcher and GTA V for PC was facing issues due to ‘extremely high player volumes.' It also mentioned that a solution is being implemented.

Due to extremely high player volumes, we are currently experiencing issues with access to Rockstar Games Services including the Rockstar Games Launcher and GTAV for PC. We are actively working to resolve the issue and will keep you updated of any changes.

However, this should not come as a surprise for gamers since the Epic Store gave away the entire pack for free. This included the entire GTA V story, GTA Online with all upgrades and content, and the Criminal Enterprise Pack.

The title is free to download and play until May 21, so get your hands on it while you can.

You can download GTA V and play it by following these steps:

- Go to epicgames.com.

- Sign up for a new account if you don't have one already. You need to set up a two-factor authentication (2FA), it is compulsory to download this game.

- Go to Account, click on ‘Passwords and security' and set up 2FA. Then head back to the home page and search for GTA 5.

- Open up the game description page and click on ‘Get'.

- This will bring up the ‘Order' button. Clicking on the ‘Order' button will add the game to your Library.

Now you need to install the game.

- After GTA 5 has been added into your library, you need to download and install the Epic Games Launcher from the company website. The launcher is about 400MB in size.

- Install that, log in with your Epic Games Store credentials.

- Click on ‘Library'. You will find GTA 5 here. Select it and press ‘Install'.

- The game is about 95GB in size so use your WiFi to download and install it, it will be easier and faster.

Make sure you download it once on your PC after you have added the game to your library since this will ensure that you can play it whenever you want. Sometimes, some game stores remove games when the free offer is over, so let's not take chances here.
