Sony India recently revealed the release date of its latest gaming console, PlayStation 5. The firm confirmed that the PS5 will be going on pre-orders starting January 12. However, as per some fans (via IGN India) Amazon India, one of the top ecommerce firms in the country, will be making the PS5 pre-orders exclusive to Amazon Prime members.

So, Amazon has now cleared the air.

In a statement, Amazon India confirms that this is not the case. It has also revealed that it will not be bundling PS5 games and accessories for sale, along with the console as some of the offline retailers are claiming to do.

“We won’t have bundles for console as of now. Customers will be able to order the console separately,” the Amazon in a statement to IGN. “There won’t be any delay at the time of pre-orders between desktop and mobile. PS5 can be ordered by Prime and Non-Prime customers."

According to the report, the game stores in India have got their allocations for PS5 disc version along with different accessories and games.

But the Digital Edition will be arriving a bit late, adds a separate report. The PS5 Digital Edition is not going to be available in time for February 2 and the Dual Sense charging station, HD camera and the PS Headset will not be available either.

On reaching out to Sony regarding why the PS5 Digital Edition and these accessories will be “skipping” India for now, the company said - “PS5 Digital Edition and select peripherals (Dual Sense charging station, HD camera and PS headset) will not be available in the launch window. Please monitor our official channels for updates on release dates.”

This basically means that the DualSense controller and Media Remote will be available in India along with the PS5 with a disc drive.
