Apple iPhone 14 release date nowhere near, but leaks abound; check latest
Apple iPhone 13 series smartphones were launched just months ago in September this year. It has barely been two-and-a-half months since then and already reports about the iPhone 14, which will launch in the fall of 2022, have started storming the internet. In the past couple of weeks, we have seen reports detailing the specifications and even the naming scheme that Apple could opt for when it launches the iPhone 14 series. The latest leak is talking about a how new design concept that will take the iPhone 14 to the next level.
ConceptsiPhone has shared a video that hints towards the design that Apple would opt for in next year's iPhone 14. This new video hints towards the iPhone 14 sporting a secondary slider that will increase the overall area of the display and let iPhone users use two apps simultaneously. Of the two apps, the top display will act as the primary display with the slide-in display acting as the secondary display. For understanding, in case of iMessage, the ongoing chat and a summary of all other chats will appear on the primary display, the secondary display will show the keyboard.
It is tipped to get a curved-edge waterfall design, unlike iPhone 13's flatscreen design. On the top, the iPhone 14 is expected to get an under-display selfie camera with a punch-hole design and at the bottom, it will have a USB Type-C charging port, probably due to European Union's new rules that require all mobile phone makers to opt for a universal charging solution to reduce electronic waste. Additionally, the iPhone 14 will have a combination of Face ID and Touch ID with the company opting for the long-touted under-display fingerprint sensor. The iPhone 14 is expected to arrive in five colour variants, which includes Scarlet, Orange, White, Blue and Black.
In addition to all these, the iPhone 14 is likely to feature support for air charging technology that will charge the phone within minutes even from afar.
It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time that reports have purported the iPhone 14 getting a punch-hole display and a combination of Face ID and an under-display fingerprint sensor for Touch ID. Reports in the past have talked about the possibility of these features being a part of the mix, however, none of them talked about having a secondary slider display.
All said and done, these reports should be taken with a pinch of salt as Apple hasn't confirmed anything yet. For all we know this concept could be Apple's answer to the foldable display smartphone trend emerging in the market right now. But of course, it is too soon to tell.
