Galaxy Note 20 Ultra hands-on video reveals minor design change, S Pen’s new functionality
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is set to launch alongside Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Watch 3 on August 5. The premium version of Note 20 has made an early appearance online. Check out the upcoming phone in this hands-on video.
There's no stopping to Samsung Galaxy Note 20 leaks. Just after Samsung confirmed its August 5 ‘Galaxy Unpacked' event, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has made another unofficial appearance on the web.
This time around we get to see the long-awaited flagship phone in a brief hands-on video. Posted by Jimmy is Promo, the clip reveals the rectangular camera panel on the back, corroborating the rumours of triple camera setup. The front looks more or less than same.
The biggest design change, however, is at the base. The S Pen will now be housed on the left side. The speaker location has also moved. Right now, it is not clear how the relocation of these modules affects the phone experience. The smartphone companies do make such rearrangements to optimise the innards for a newer form factor.
Another interesting thing that the hands-on video reveals is the backward compatibility of the S Pen. This essentially means the stylus of Note 20 can work on Note 10, and vice versa.
The hands-on video also confirms the rumours of Samsung Galaxy Note 20's S Pen gaining a pointer feature. Similar to air gestures, you can simply point to the functionality of the phone and enter it. The concept seems very similar to laser pointers used at workplaces.
That said, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is going to be the top-end model in the new lineup. Just like the S20 Ultra, it will come with top-of-the-line specifications such as up to 16GB of RAM. The phone is also rumoured to come with an upgraded 108-megapixel camera.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is rumoured to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, which launched just yesterday. The phone will come with a QHD+ display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will also be available with Exynos 992 processor in some select markets.
