Google Pixel 6 series teased with a new Instagram post, YouTube video
We know the Pixel 6 series is coming, and lots of dates have been tipped for its launch already. However, Google is yet to officially announce launch dates. Nonetheless, the company has been teasing its upcoming devices and recently shared a post on Instagram along with a promo video on YouTube showing off the new smartphones.
The Instagram post shows off a dozen Google Pixel smartphones with wallpapers in 12 different colours. This picture is Google's take on Drake's latest album “Certified Lover Boy” cover. The YouTube video, on the other hand, shows the Google Pixel 6 in users' hands and you get to look at non-rendered images for the first time ever. As far as information is concerned, the Instagram post also hints at a possible Google Pixel 6 series launch date. The launch might happen on October 19, as it has been tipped earlier, and Google is going to launch the Google Pixel 6 and the Google Pixel 6 Pro.
The Instagram post, shared from the Made By Google (@madebygoogle) handle shows off the Pixel 6 devices sporting the latest Material You design that is going to be rolled out with Android 12. The caption on the post reads - “Certified Pixel Lovers” - another take on Drake's album. Each phone in the 4x3 grid has wallpapers in a different colour and there are different clocks and widgets on each screen. The dates on all the devices read Tuesday 19, which could be an indication that it is the launch date - October 19 which happens to be a Tuesday. However, this is not an “official” announcement and so just to be sure, you might want Google to make a formal announcement.
The video Google has shared on YouTube shows the smartphone in users' hands for the first time and we are no longer looking at renders. The video also shows off the different colour options that are going to be available on the Pixel 6 series - Gold and White for the Pixel 6 Pro and Green and Orange for the Pixel 6. The video shows off the back of the device with its horizontally placed camera module - the biggest design change Google has done in years. The little we get to see of the display on the Pixel 6 series in the video show thin bezels on three sides and a thicker chin. The front camera is also seen housed in the hole-punch cutout in the centre of the screen.
