If you really want Apple EarPods in the box, you can buy the iPhone 12 from France
The Apple iPhone 12 in France reportedly comes in two boxes to accommodate the EarPods since French manufacturing law requires headphones to be shipped with phones.
iPhone fans will know that Apple made a huge, albeit controversial, decision to leave out the charging adapter and EarPods from the iPhone box this year. All the newly announced iPhones - the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max - will all ship without these two components, thereby needing a much slimmer retail box.
The reason behind leaving out the charger and the headphones is because of Apple taking a stand against unnecessary carbon emissions. This also means Apple spends less money behind developing these accessories - the company assumes that you already have enough chargers and headphones.
Apple is going to do the same “accessory-removal” for the iPhone 11, iPhone SE (2020) and the iPhone XR.
However, chargers aside, if you are still pretty hung up about wanting the EarPods that ship with iPhones, perhaps you can buy your new iPhone 12 from France. The iPhone 12 devices in France are going to ship in two boxes, one to accommodate the EarPods, since French manufacturing laws require headphones to be shipped with phones. Apple has thus made arrangements to include the EarPods for all the units shipping to France.
And like we just said, the absence of the charger and EarPods mean a smaller retail box for the company and that's exactly how iPhones will be shipping now across the globe, to fit in the EarPods, Apple's smaller, new retail box is being packed inside a bigger box that contains EarPods.
The charger, however, is still not included.
Apple had advised customers to use existing chargers and EarPods but the company also sells $19 (25 euro) 20W chargers and $39 (45 euros) wireless MagSafe charger and has also slashed $10 from the price of EarPods to make them $19 (19 euros).
