iPhone 13 to feature smaller notch, upgraded cameras
Here's another report suggesting a smaller notch on the iPhone 13 series.
Apple is not giving up on the notch yet but this year it might decrease the size for the iPhone 13 series. Apple is also expected to offer an improved Face ID and larger image sensors in this year's iPhones.
According to a report by Digitimes, Apple will integrate Rzx, Tx, and flood illuminator sensors into one camera for an improved Face ID. This is similar to the LiDAR sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro models, and it also leads to the possibility of a smaller notch. Mac Otakara had also reported that the notch will be smaller on the iPhone 13 series.
The report adds that the iPhone 13 Pro models will come with larger sensors, and LiDAR sensor as well. The other iPhone 13 models are said to come with the same cameras as the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apple is also expected to add the sensor-shift OIS that's exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro Max on the iPhone 13 series.
Apple is said to offer only minor changes this year with the iPhone 13 series, according to Bloomberg. But we are expecting some iPhone firsts such as an in-display fingerprint sensor. Some reports also suggest 120Hz displays, another highly anticipated feature for iPhones. The Bloomberg report also stated that Apple has considered removing the charging port for some iPhone models. This would be one crazy change if Apple does plan to go ahead with it.
Apple is also expected to bring back the ‘S' branding for iPhones with minor upgrades this year. A total of four iPhone 13 models are expected to launch in 2021.
