HMD Global has launched a new entry-level smartphone. Called Nokia 2 V Tella, the smartphone is said to be a rebranded version of the Nokia 2.1. The smartphone will be available on Verizon in the US for $168 ( ₹12,300 approximately). It comes in one blue colour option.
As expected, Nokia 2 V Tella offers entry-level specifications. The phone comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
For performance, it relies on MediaTek Helio A22 processor, which has a quad-core CPU and is based on the 12nm manufacturing process. XDA Developers in its report points out that Helio A22 is an outdated chip as it launched in mid-2018.
The chipset is coupled with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The phone comes with 16GB of built-in storage. It also supports expandable storage up to 128GB via a microSD card. There is also a 3,000mAh battery with 10W charging.
For photography, Nokia 2 V Tella features as many as three cameras. On the back, it has a combination of an 8-megapixel primary sensor and 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash.
In terms of connectivity, it has USB Type-C, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone jack, and LTE support.
On the software front, Nokia 2 V Tella comes with Android 10 out-of-the-box. It is likely eligible for the Android 11 update in the future. It also comes with a dedicated Google Assistant button, as seen in some of the recent Nokia phones.
“With Nokia 2 V Tella you get what you want, plus a little more. A large 5.45-inch HD+ display to see it all, a dual camera to get the shot you want – even in low light – and 2-day battery life1 to keep you charged for longer. Plus, expect a better way of doing things with Android 10,” says HMD Global on its website.
