Xiaomi's Redmi 9i will go on sale today at 12 PM via Flipkart and Mi.com. The latest budget smartphone from Xiaomi comes in two variants – 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 4GB RAM and 128GB storage – priced at 8,299 and 9,299. Redmi 9i is available in Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green colour options.

Redmi 9i comes with a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD display with a notch on the front. MediaTek's Helio G25 octa-core processor powers the phone. Apart from up to 128GB built-in storage, Redmi 9i also comes with microSD card support for storage expansion up to 512GB. Other key features include TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and P2i coating for keeping the device splash-proof.

For photography, Redmi 9i features a single 13-megapixel rear camera. The camera comes with features such as portrait mode, document scanner and kaleidoscope. The phone has a 5-megapixel camera up front for selfies.

It runs on a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging. Xiaomi claims that the Redmi 9i can work for more than 2.5 years with no damage to the battery.

Redmi 9i will compete with Motorola's new E7 Plus which recently launched in India for 9,499. The Moto E7 Plus comes with a 48-megapixel camera and a 5,000mAh battery. Other key features of the phone include Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone 64GB built-in storage. It supports expandable storage up to 512GB via a microSD card.
