Smartphones with removable batteries are rare nowadays, especially in the mid-range and premium categories. Samsung, however, may be toying with the idea of bringing back the concept of removable batteries on smartphones in the budget category.

According to Sammobile, Samsung's affordable smartphone with a removable battery could launch very soon. The publication has also posted a live photo a battery saying it belongs to an unannounced SM-A013F. The battery in the photo has 3,000mAh capacity.

The report further says that the smartphone could come with 16GB and 32GB storage options. The phone is likely to launch in select markets across Asia and Europe. According to the report, the phone could be available in red, blue, and black colour options. Sammobile speculates the phone could belong to Galaxy A series.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

It is worth noting that Samsung does offer some phones with removable batteries under XCover series. These devices, however, aren't aimed at the mass market. Samsung earlier this year launched a mid-ranged rugged phone, Galaxy XCover Pro. The phone came with swappable battery support.
