Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is taking the fight to its rivals in India by launching the Vivo Y21 here; the smartphone will take on Samsung Galaxy F22, Realme Narzo 30, Redmi Note 10s and others.

In what will increase the choices before Indian buyers, in terms of price and number of smartphones in the segment, Vivo today launched the Vivo Y21, a new mid-budget mobile phone here. The newly launched Vivo Y21 smartphone is powered by MediaTek's Helio P35 chipset and it comes with a water-drop notch in the front. In India, the Vivo Y21 smartphone joins the likes of other Y-series smartphones which includes the Vivo Y53 and the Vivo Y72 5G. It competes with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy F22, Realme Narzo 30, Redmi Note 10s and the Moto G30 smartphones.

Vivo Y21 price and availability

The Vivo Y21 smartphone comes in two memory variants in India. There is a variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space that costs 15,490 in India. The other variant comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. But Vivo hasn't revealed details about the price and availability of the 64GB storage variant yet.

The company also said that the new Vivo Y21 smartphone will be available in Midnight Blue and Diamond Glow colour variants across the Vivo India e-store, Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm, Tatacliq, Bajaj Finserv EMI Store and across all partner retail stores starting August 20.

As a part of the launch offer, Vivo is giving a cashback of 500 on the purchases made using HDFC and ICICI Bank cards. Additionally, Jio subscribers will get Jio Digital benefits worth 7,000. While purchasing the Vivo Y21 via online platforms, interested buyers will get a discount worth 500 on exchange and a no-cost EMI option of up to nine months.

Vivo Y21 specs

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Vivo Y21 comes with a 6.51-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600x720 pixels. It is powered by MediaTek's Helio G35 SoC that is coupled with 4GB of RAM, 1GB of extended RAM and 128GB of storage space. It runs on Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11.1.

On the camera front, the Vivo Y21 has an 8MP camera in the front for clicking selfies. At the back, it has a dual-camera setup consisting of a 13MP + 2MP camera setup. Coming to the battery, the Vivo Y21 smartphone comes with a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging technology.
