Not many of us like the Lightning port on the iPhone in a world where USB-C is now the “daal-chawal” for us. The Lightning port has been around for ages and while once it was a class-leading technology, it is no more the case. Apple continues to use Lightning port on its iPhones and that led one guy on the Internet to make his own iPhone with a USB-C port. Not only did he do it nicely, the change of port for his iPhone X worked wonderfully and it even fetched good money. Now, he does the opposite — put the iPhone's charging port on a Samsung phone.

Yeah, no kidding! Ken Pillonel does the reverse this time, putting the iPhone's Lightning port into a Samsung phone. For the project, he chose an older Samsung Galaxy A51 that originally came with a USB-C 2.0 port. In his video, he shows a successful change of port for the Samsung phone, and it was working as expected. With the Apple charger, he could charge the Galaxy A51 and even transfer data.

Previously, rumours had emerged of Apple planning to ditch the Lightning port on the iPhones. In its place, there were two alternatives that were thought of. One was the humble USB-C port, since Apple has been giving its iPad models the USB-C charging port, except for the base iPad.

Another alternative was expected to be the wireless MagSafe charging only, which is already on the new iPhones. Even since the iPhone 12, Apple has been pushing its MagSafe wireless charging tech that allows for up to 15W wireless charging speeds and holds the phone in place with magnets.
