We know a lot about iPhone SE 3 already from various leaks. However, the iPhone SE 3 price is one area where we do not have much clarity although some very cogent analysis have provided a window to see what the amount might actually be. While experts largely agree that Apple's third generation Special Edition smartphone will continue to remain in the affordable range, no one is really sure on the expected price simply because it is set to be a 5G phone and it will have some really premium features to go along with that. However, we can make some estimates on the price range it is most likely to fall under.

What do we know about iPhone SE 3 price

When it comes to the general consensus of expert opinions, only one thing can be said with certainty and that is the iPhone SE 3 will be in the 'affordable' price range. But that still does not tell us much. Looking at the past iPhone SE series launches, the first generation iPhone SE was launched at Rs. 39,000 in 2016. Four years later, iPhone SE (2020) came out at the price of Rs. 42,500. Keeping the same statistical trajectory, an estimated price range could be between Rs. 45,000 and Rs. 48,000 for iPhone SE 3. Although this is simply guesswork, this calculation becomes important considering the other reports.

Reports from JP Morgan tells us iPhone SE 3 price range

There are other reports too that shed more light on iPhone SE 3 price. In a report by Reuters, JP Morgan analysts claimed that iPhone SE 3 will be able to pull away more than a billion mid-range Android smartphone users. But how is that relevant? Because of Apple's trade-in program for non-iPhone devices. If Apple does intend to sway mid-range Android device users and bring them under the iPhone ecosystem, then they will have to price iPhone SE 3 accordingly. But in Apple's trade-in program, where customers can gain a discount in purchasing a new iPhone by handing in their existing device, Android devices are not valued as highly as iOS devices. As a result, the expected migration from Android to iOS will not happen if iPhone SE 3 is priced at higher than Android mid-range smartphones after trading in their non-iOS devices. So, iPhone SE 3 will have to be priced lower to facilitate this migration of customers.

Samik Chatterjee, an analyst at JP Morgan concurs. He said, "It could lead to an average starting price range of $269 to $399 for the 5G iPhone SE, which is still very competitive." A quick conversion to INR tells us that this puts iPhone SE 3 in the range between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 30,000. However, such conversions are not very useful as Apple will have different prices for different regions depending on the overhead costs.

This is where our guesstimate comes in. Based on both the analyses, it can be expected that the starting price for iPhone SE 3 could be somewhere in the Rs. 30,000 - Rs. 45,000 range. We should know more clearer details in time to come.

iPhone SE 3 is expected to launch in late April or early May. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had earlier said that this will be the “cheapest 5G phone ever.
