Now that Android 11 is out, the OEMs are pushing last year's Android 10 to as many users as possible so the update charts for the new OS version is worked upon. Xiaomi has been one of those brands that has been active in this phase. 

While it has already rolled out Android 10 to most flagship and mid-rangers, now its time for entry-level phones. The firm has announced its cheapest smartphone that will get Android 10. It has also given a timeline on when it will be coming. We are talking about Redmi 8A. This has been confirmed in Xiaomi forum and will be a part of third phase of roll out.

In case you don't know what the third phase means, Xiaomi typically is said to have three phases for latest Android version rollout. While the two phases of rolling out Android 10 to flagship and mid-range phones are done, the third phase will begin now and Redmi 8A are two of the lowest priced phones available today that are getting Android 10 based MIUI 12.

Also mentioned in the forum by the moderator (via Edunews), the Redmi 8A should get MIUI 12 based on Android 10 later this month itself. This means the first beta should arrive really soon. There's no word about the Redmi 7A though.

Redmi 8A includes a 5000mAh battery, 13-megapixel+2megapixel depth sensor, 6.22inch Dot Notch screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, 2GB or 3GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. In India, the price of the product starts from 7,499.
