The 10th-anniversary edition of the Apple iPhone 8 has sparked many rumours including one that hints that the iPhone 8 will support wireless charging.

However, KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo, who is noted as one of the best Apple analysts in the world, is predicting now that the 4.7-inch variant of the iPhone 8 will come with a bigger battery but will cost the consumers more.

Earlier reports also suggested that the iPhone 8 might not feature any ports at all and will only support wireless charging. The speculation gains more weightage as rumours also say that Apple wants to make the water-resistant feature on the iPhone 8 a lot stronger.

Kuo has claimed that the new 4.7-inch variant of the iPhone 8 will sport a larger 2,700 mAh battery instead of a 1,960 mAh unit used in all of its 4.7-inch iPhones released earlier.

The 2,700 mAh battery was barely adequate on the Plus model of Apple's iPhones so that means the smaller sized iPhone will get more juice with the new increased battery.

Kuo's report also claims that Apple is switching to a new 'stacked-substrate' PCB design for its mainboard - the chip that holds all the electronics of the iPhone - which has resulted in a much smaller form-factor.

As a result, a lot of space opens up inside the iPhone which Kuo feels Apple will use to house a bigger-sized battery. However, Kuo also claims that the new PCB design also is expensive to make so consumers will have to shell out a lot more (near about 80% more) for the product.

Additionally, the new PCB design will not make it to the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus models that are expected to be launched in April this year.
