The EOS Rebel T4i (also known as the 650D in Europe) is an easy-to-use entry level digital SLR that sports an enhanced set of features.

The camera is built for amateur photographers who are looking to improve their skills and take their photography to the next level.

The EOS Rebel T4i is a step up from Canon's best-selling T3i. It is rivaled by Nikon's entry level D3200 (which was released earlier this year).

The T4i comes with a redesigned 18MP CMOS sensor, full HD video capture, an improved 9-point autofocus system, stereo microphones, and a 3.0" flip-out LCD - Canon's first LCD to feature a multitouch screen.

'Our Rebel line of cameras bridges the gap between the casual photographer and someone looking to advance their photography and capture moments in new and creative ways. The EOS Rebel T4i boasts full HD video with AF and touch-screen navigation, inspiring even more photographers and videographers to explore the creative options made possible with DSLR cameras and lenses,' said Yuichi Ishizuka, executive vice president and general manager, Imaging Technologies & Communications Group, Canon USA.

As the price of DSLcome down and new, advanced features are added to the mix, more and more consumers are starting to jump on the DSLR bandwagon.

"The T4i will make a great camera for YouTubers/ aspiring videographers," say Twitter users posting about the camera, "if you're looking for your first DSLR, look no further."

The Canon EOS Rebel T4i is set to arrive on the market by the end of June. The body-only configuration will be priced at $849.99, the body and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens kit at $949.99, and a Movie Kit bundle with the new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens will be available for $1199.00.
