Coming out on Nintendo Wii, DS, PlayStation 2 & 3, PSP, Xbox 360 and PC, the game sees Harry and friends make their way through the various adventures detailed within the first four JK Rowling books. All of this occurs within a typical Lego style, with building blocks flying to and fro as heroes and villains encounter each other in-and-around Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Though now part of a Lego video game family that includes
Star Wars, Batman
, and
Indiana Jones
, the
Harry Potter
novels are certainly not the first to find themselves reborn in both cinematic and video game form.
Lord Of The Rings
Online has started trialling a free-to-play mode, and
The Chronicles of Narnia
stories have been given video-game tie-ins when they started hitting the
big screen from 2005 onwards.
The post-apocalyptic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games were heavily influenced by Andrei Tarkovsky's
Stalker
, which in turn heavily drew upon Strugastskys'
Roadside Picnic
novel.
