Google CEO Sundar Pichai made $100 million in 2015

Pichai became the Google CEO after Sergey Brin and Larry Page re-organised the assests and became the President and Chairman of Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc. Both the founders have continued to take home a salary of $1 every year.

Sundar Pichai made $100.5 million in 2015 according to a filings the Mountain View, Calif. firm posted Tuesday. The Google CEO was paid $99.8 million in company stock which will vest only next year. However, Pichai's cash salary was only $652,500.

Pichai became the Google CEO after Sergey Brin and Larry Page re-organised the assets and became the President and Chairman of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc. Both the founders have continued to take home a salary of $1 every year.

Pichai has made his way up the ladder from handling Chrome and apps, to Android and eventually Google. As the CEO, he oversees all the departments including the VR division said to be working on a new Cardboard device in time for this year's Google IO.

Back in February 2016, Pichai reportedly received restricted stock worth about $199 million which was revealed in a regulatory filing by Google parent company Alphabet. He received a grant for 273,328 Class C Google stock units on February 3. The valuation was based on the stock's closing price on that date. Pichai sold 375 Class A common shares on the same day at a price of $786.28 each, and 3,625 Class C capital stock at a price of $768.84 each.
