After almost a two year gap, Google has finally updated My Maps with Material Design along with a slew of other features and performance improvements. The app essentially allows users to create and share custom maps, which has been dormant since its first update in 2014.

My Maps has been now been updated to version 2.0, which allows users to create custom maps and keep track of important routes and places. Google has also updated the app with a short tutorial which gives users a brief overview of the features they can explore.

In addition, its also allows users to view photos and videos, along with any other locations you have saved which can also be accessed through any other Maps applications. Users can now get directions to saved points instantly, and Street View imagery gets overhauled with more locations which can be accessed within the app itself.

Its a pretty nifty update, interested users can now get the update from the Play Store.
