Keyword search comes to Instagram

Instagram's latest update for its mobile applilcation, includes a tab designed for searching out images or users by keyword. This is the first significant development seen on the photo-based social network since it was acquired by Facebook in April for the record price of a billion dollars.

Instagram's latest update for its mobile applilcation, released Monday, includes a tab designed for searching out images or users by keyword. This is the first significant development seen on the photo-based social network since it was acquired by Facebook in April for the record price of a billion dollars.

In addition to the new Explore feature, Instagram now offers users the ability to go directly to their Camera Roll. It is also now possible to directly share 'likes' on Facebook via Open Graph (to be configured in settings).
