Prithvi-II missile fired successfully by India; here's what government says

The Ministry of Defence- has informed that a successful training launch of the Prithvi-II missile was carried out on June 15, 2022. Here is all you need to know.

India on Wednesday successfully tested the launch of a Short-Range Ballistic Missile- Prithvi-II. The test has been conducted nearly 10 days after a routine test of Agni missile. Informing about the same, the Ministry of Defence said that the missile is a proven system and is capable of striking targets with a very high degree of precision. "A successful training launch of a Short-Range Ballistic Missile, Prithvi-II was carried out on June 15, 2022 at approximately 1930 hrs from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Odisha. The missile is a proven system and is capable of striking targets with a very high degree of precision," the ministry said in a statement.

"The user training launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters of the missile," it further informed. As per the information provided by the government, the test was part of routine user training launches carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command.

"A successful training launch of an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, was carried out at approximately 1930 hours on June 06, 2022 from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha. The successful test was part of routine user training launches carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command," the Ministry of Defence said. "The launch validated all operational parameters as also the reliability of the system. The successful test reaffirms India's policy of having a 'Credible Minimum Deterrence' Capability," it further added.
