Trello introduces a new look, features
From revamped card formats to multiple views, here are the top new features of Trello.
Popular project management and collaboration platform Trello is rolling out a major visual overhaul along with a wide range of new features.
Trello says the new design aims to help users better visualise the work. Users also get more insights into different kind of listed tasks. The company has also introduced new card capabilities to connect between boards. There will also be a new sidebar to make it easier for users to navigate all the boards and views.
Trello Views
As the name implies, it makes it easier for team members to view the progress of a task. This includes a timeline, table, dashboard, and calendar. The feature is currently available to Business Class and Enterprise customers.
With Timeline View, users can create and monitor a timeline for a project/task. The feature also allows users to group cards in lanes by list, label or member.
Table View aims to help better manage tasks with a larger number of teammates involved.
“Table pulls in cards from selected boards across your team into a convenient spreadsheet styled list that can be sorted and filtered to drill down to exactly the cards you need to see,” said Trello in a blog post.
Similarly, the Dashboard View aims to give a bird-eye view of the projects. It also shows metrics such as due date, cards per list, and assigned cards. It also has charts and graphs for better understanding of the progress.
The Calendar View is self-explanatory. It clubs the progress of the task with dates on a calendar. It also shows start dates and due dates.
Cards revamp
Trello has also revamped the format of the cards on its platform. For instance, users can now simply paste a URL as a card title, and Trello will automatically display previews from platforms such as Dropbox, YouTube, Instagram, Stripe, and Google Drive.
Trello will soon introduce Mirror Cards, which will allow users to clone one card to appear on multiple boards.
