A young tiger has been found dead in a wildlife park in Madhya Pradesh, a state famous for the big cats.

The one-and-a-half-year-old tiger was found dead in the Bandhavgarh National Park in Umariya district of eastern Madhya Pradesh, a forest official told IANS.

A post-mortem will be done to ascertain the cause of the death. Officials suspect the animal died following an accident. The official said the dead tiger's neck was swollen. 'There are chances that the tiger was hit by some vehicle and succumbed to the injuries,' he said.
