Fancy a portable printer to go with your smartphone? YU, a spin-off brand that Micromax launched earlier this year, has you covered. It now has a palm-sized printer called the YUPIX, which connects to your smartphone over Wi-FI or NFC (if your smartphone has NFC, that is) and instantly prints 2.1 x 3.4 inch photos.

The YUPIX weighs just 273 gm — seriously, its practically featherweight for a printer — and simply requires you to install the YUPIX app on your phone to use. You can crop, edit and resize photos with no computer involved.

How does the YUPIX print, you ask. It uses something called dye sublimation — a technology that uses heat to transfer dye onto a material (photo paper, in this case). Its minuscule body includes an ink ribbon and the photo paper it includes is water and fingerprint proof.

You can buy the YUPIX on Amazon from September 7 for 6,999.
