This is the first time Apple has scheduled an activity on World Environment Day ever. They usually do one for Earth Day, April 22, but didn't this year.

Apple has scheduled the next Apple Watch Activity Challenge on June 5. June 5 celebrates the World Environment Day and the challenge, this time, will be encouraging Apple Watch users to fill in their ‘Stand' ring for the day by standing up for at least a minute over a 12-hour span on June 5.

Apple did not have an activity to mark Earth Day last month, probably to encourage people to stay at home and stay safe from the pandemic. For the first time ever, Apple has announced an activity to mark World Environment Day.

“Stand up for the planet on World Environment Day. Close your Stand ring on June 5 and earn this award by getting up and moving around for at least one minute during 12 hours that day,” Apple said.

So what are these ‘awards'?

Apple Watch users can collect virtual trophies from completing Activity Challenges that can be accessed via the Achievements tab on the Activity app. If you complete the challenge on June 5, you can collect a virtual trophy and there are special stickers to acquire as well that you can use on Messages and on FaceTime.

Here are the stickers you can get -

Apple Watch users will be notified about the upcoming challenge well ahead of time.

Apple Watch users will know that the ‘Standing' ring is one of the hardest rings to close. If you regularly work out, then closing the workout and the calorie rings are quite simple, depending on the goals you have set for yourself. The Standing ring can only be closed if you manage to stand up every time the Apple Watch prompts you. If you have a desk job, it's hard to accomplish.

Let's hope you can accomplish it on June 5, if you want those stickers enough that is!
