Mi Band 6 may look identical to the predecessor, reveals a new leak
Mi Band 6 may have same design as the Mi Band 5. The new wearable, however, may offer more features.
Mi Band 5 successor is coming soon. Conveniently dubbed Mi Band 6, the wearable has already bagged certifications in markets such as Indonesia and India. Even as Xiaomi has not announced a launch date yet, more new details about the Mi Band 6 have emerged online.
A new leaked live image reveals the wearable is going to look identical to the predecessor. As Gizmochina points out, strap and display design look similar to the Mi Band 5. The leaked image also features a charging cable that reveals a magnetic charging feature.
According to a leak in January, Mi Band 6 will come in at least variants – one with NFC (for China market) and another with no NFC (global variant). The wearable is also said to come with a built-in GPS receiver for better and more accurate measurement of speed and distance data. It will reportedly feature at least 12 new workout modes such as Zumba, stepper, street dance, and pilates. The wearable will also come with a SpO2 sensor for blood-oxygen measurement.
Other leaked features reveal the wearable will come with a new system for time management. The system will mute notifications for 25 minutes. There will also be support for monitoring sleep data.
One of the top features expected on the Mi Band 6 is the ability to control and manage smart home devices. The feature is likely to be available through the company's Mi Home app. The software on Mi Band 6 may also come with a refreshed UI.
That said, Xiaomi had launched the Mi Band 5 in India in September last year. The wearable launched at ₹2,499. The wearable comes with 11 work out modes such as outdoor running, power walking, cycling, indoor running, and pool swimming among others. The onboard sleep monitoring features include deep sleep, light sleep, rapid eye movement, and naps. To know more about the wearable, read our Mi Band 5 Review.
