Mi Band 6 to come with smart home devices support, built-in GPS receiver and more
Xiaomi continues to offer one of the best affordable fitness bands. It’s now working on the Mi Band 6 which is poised to come with upgrades such as a built-in GPS receiver and smart home support.
The firmware of what’s believed to be the Mi Band 6 has been spotted on the Zepp (formerly Amazfit) app. It has been published on the blogging site Logger along with details on what’s coming with the Mi Band 6. According to the report, Mi Band 6 will be available in two variants - one for China with NFC, and the global variant which will most likely not have NFC.
Xiaomi’s upcoming fitness band is said to feature a built-in GPS receiver for accurate speed and distance data of your workouts. Mi Band 6 is also expected to feature 12 new exercise modes including HIIT, core training, stretching, pilates, street dance, zumba and stepper. Like the Mi Band 5, this one too will have an SpO2 sensor for blood-oxygen measurement.

Mi Band 6 is also said to feature a time management system where notifications will be muted for 25 minutes. On the Mi Band 6, users will reportedly be able to view sleep data. This is possible only on the Mi Fit app for current Mi Bands. It also hints at a larger display for the Mi Band 6. The fitness band is also expected to display emojis inside notifications.
Another major upgrade coming to Mi Band 6 is the ability to control smart home devices. This will be for Xiaomi smart home devices that use the Mi Home app. Xiaomi is also planning a refreshed UI that we’ll see on the Mi Band 6.
That’s quite an impressive set of upgrades expected to arrive on the Mi Band 6. There’s no word on its launch yet but it will most likely take a few months till we see it debut.
