Windows 11 download: Here is what will unleash the full power of this new Microsoft software

Many have wondered whether Windows 11 is worth downloading and whether they should stick to Windows 10 instead on their machines despite the fact that the new Microsoft OS update has some standout features. Well, here is something that will make you choose to download the Windows 11. The reason is because Microsoft worked with Intel to get the best hardware to ensure it unlocks the full potential of Windows 11. This became clear when Intel hosted its annual Architecture Day presentation virtually this week. At the presentation, the chipmaker unveiled its 12th generation system-on-chip called Alder Lake. It will succeed its last year’s 11th-generation processor called Tiger Lake.

Significantly, Intel said that Alder Lake is its first performance hybrid architecture with the new Intel Thread Director. The company said that Alder Lake features a combination of efficient-cores and performance-cores, scaling from ultra-mobile to desktop adding that the PCs and laptops based on Alder Lake will begin shipping later this year.

Simply said, when Alder Lake-based laptops and personal computers are launched later this year, they will work the best with Microsoft’s Windows 11 operating system. While Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake processor will also work with Windows 10, Linux and other operating systems, but the overall performance won’t be as good as the one you will get when used with Windows 11.

Windows 11 release date has not been revealed, but most reports have indicated that the update may be rolled out for the general public in the middle of October, and some have even gone to the extent of saying it will be on October 20.

At the event, Intel also introduced a new hardware scheduler called Thread Director. Intel explained that the Thread Director will work seamlessly with the operating system to place the right thread on the right core at the right time. Now, Intel’s Thread Director requires Windows 11 to function optimally. To make this happen, Intel confirmed that it worked with Microsoft to optimise its Alder Lake processor with the Windows 10 successor.

“To enable this high level of coordination that improves real-world performance, Intel has partnered with Microsoft to incorporate this revolutionary capability into the next version of Windows 11,” Intel said during its Architecture Day presentation.

This was later confirmed by Microsoft’s Partner Development Manager Mehmet Iyigun. “Throughout the development cycle of Windows 11, my team worked with our colleagues at Intel to update and optimize our next operating system to make the most of the Performance Hybrid architecture and Thread Director in particular,” Iyigun said.

“With Thread Director feedback, the Windows 11 thread scheduler is much smarter in dynamically choosing the most appropriate core based on the workload to get the best power and performance,” Iyigun added.
