Google Pixel 4a launched: 5 things you should know about it

After months of anticipation, Google today finally launched its budget Pixel 4a smartphone. The Pixel 4a smartphone, which is the successor to last year’s Pixel 3a smartphone, is available in three variants. There is a 4G variant that costs $349 ( ₹26,250 approximately) and there are two 5G variants that come at a starting price of $499 ( ₹37,534 approximately).

To give you a quick brief about the Pixel 4a’s specs: it comes with a 5.8-inch OLED display. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset that is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. It comes with a 12.2-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3,140mAh battery with support fast charging technology.

Here are five things you should know about the newly launched Pixel 4a smartphone:

-- The Pixel 4a is Google’s first 5G enabled smartphone.

-- The 5G enabled Pixel 4a smartphone will be available in the US, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Australia.

-- The Pixel 4a is available for pre-order in the US via the Google Store, Google Fi. It will be available for purchase in the country starting August 20 via the Google Store, BestBuy.com, Amazon and carriers including Google Fi, US Cellular and Verizon.

-- The 4G enabled variant of the Google Pixel 4a will be available in India in October 2020. The phone will be sold in India via Flipkart.
