Google will reportedly bring back the dedicated fingerprint sensor on upcoming Pixel 5. The company had removed the slot in favour of 3D face recognition on its 2019 flagship phones, Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL. Google’s upcoming Pixel 4A will also have the fingerprint sensor on the back.
According to reports, Google’s 2020 Pixel series is going to be very different from the previous years. This year, the company is said to launch Pixel 4A, Pixel 4A 5G, and Pixel 5. This is in stark contrast to Google’s two variants for each category, for instance, Pixel 3A and Pixel 3A XL and Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL.
Google is also rumoured to skip Qualcomm’s top-end chipset for the upcoming phones. Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G are said to run on Qualcomm’s mid-tier Snapdragon 765G processor. The Pixel 4A could rely on Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor for performance.
Based on rumours thus far, Google’s Pixel 4a will have a 5.81-inch display with full HD resolution. The phone is said to have 6GB of RAM. It could come with up to 128GB storage. A 3,080mAh battery is likely to run the phone. Google Pixel 4a will have a 12.2-megapixel rear sensor. The selfie camera is likely to be housed in a punch-hole cutout on the front, which will also be a first for the Pixel phones.
