iPhone 13 is going to support faster WiFi than the current iPhone 12 devices

The upcoming iPhone 13 is going to be an upgrade over the iPhone 12 line for sure, and over time we are getting more information about specific components that are going to contribute for that to happen. The latest news is that the WiFi chip could be one of the components contributing to the overall performance boost to the iPhone 13 range.

According to a report in MacRumours, the team at analyst firm Barclays have tipped that the iPhone 13 devices will probably come with WiFi 6e capabilities. This is a step up from the current WiFi 6 capabilities on this year’s devices.

Barclays’ predictions are based on its conversations with Apple’s hardware suppliers so the tip seems to be well-sourced. However, this is true for most of such rumours and we’ll just have to wait and watch.

As far as WiFi 6E is concerned, the chip will offer faster data speeds and lower latencies. In simpler terms that means quicker access to the web and less interference from other devices when one tries to get online. Augmented Reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications should also benefit from this upgrade.

Besides the iPhone 13, the Barclays analysts have ruled out the possibility of another iPhone SE over the next few months. An updated model of the iPhone SE is expected, but it is not going to show up in the first half of 2021.

Ming-Chi Kuo has also said that there will not be another iPhone SE model till the second half of 2021, so this falls in line with what the Barclays analysts have to say.

The iPhone 12 devices are going to launch by September next year, as is Apple’s normal schedule.
