iPhone 13 might come with dual cameras on the front, latest renders show: Check them out

The Apple iPhone 13 series is expected to launch around September this year, following Apple’s normal schedule. The iPhone 12 series launch was delayed last year due to the pandemic and global lockdowns. And is also the norm, the rumours have been circulating about what the iPhone 13 might look like and we know so far that it might come with a smaller notch, a bigger battery, and even a 120Hz screen refresh rate. Some other rumours have suggested that the iPhone 13 is also going to come with a special coating on the back that makes fingerprints less visible. Now, there are some exclusive 3D renders, courtesy My Smart Price, that gives us a better idea of what the iPhone 13 might look like.

Going by these renders, it looks like Apple is not going to change the design on the iPhone this year. The renders show an old iPhone 5/iPhone 5S-type design mixed with what we saw on the iPhone X and the devices after that - the edge-to-edge displays. The overall size of the iPhone 13 is also tipped to be 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.6mm, which is the same as the current iPhone 12.

Now, there are to be three cutouts for the camera on the front, which is the same as the current iPhones. On current devices, there is a cut-out for the dot projector (for FaceID), one for the infrared camera, and one for the camera. The usual placement for these cut-outs is - two on the left of the notch, the earpiece in the middle, and the other cutout on the right of the notch. The new renders show that all three cutouts are placed right next to each other. This makes you wonder why Apple has picked a design like this unless it explicitly wants to put two cameras on the front this time. The notch on the renders appears to be particularly crowded. There is a fourth cutout there that’s probably meant for the ambient light sensor, the proximity sensor, etc. While it is hard to speculate correctly at this point, it might also be a speaker.

The renders show another change of design as well. The rear cameras have been placed diagonally instead of vertically on one side. However, it does not look like Apple is going to change the overall specs as far as cameras are concerned. There are four cutouts, two on each and of the square camera module for the lenses and two more, one for the flash and the other for the noise-canceling microphone. Going by the cutouts it does not look like the LiDAR sensor is going to make it to the iPhone 13 either, which is probably fine because Apple might be reserving its AR features for the Pro models only.
