Oppo Reno 8 leaked renders reveal a familiar design (Digital Chat Station)

It has barely been two months since Oppo released the Reno 7 series in India and already, leaks of its successor are out in the wild! The Oppo Reno 8 has leaked online and the very first leak comes from a reliable source. One look at the leaked render and it seems that Oppo's design team seems to have ripped off a OnePlus design for their phone. It looks good though!

Coming from tipster Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Reno 8 seems to be a watered-down version of the OnePlus 10 Pro, at least from the looks. The phone appears to have a similar rear camera design element with similar button layouts and overall aesthetics. The only difference is that the display on the front is flat instead of curved.

Oppo Reno 8 leak shows interesting design

The Reno 8 appears to have a triple camera setup on its rear. Unlike the OnePlus 10 Pro, there's no Hasselblad branding visible anywhere here. The camera island itself is bigger though and the render does not show any Oppo logo yet. The phone is shown in a black colour variant but we expect Oppo to bring in more colour variants of the phone.

There is an upgrade in the display department finally. The tip says that Oppo is likely to use a new 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Previous generations of the Reno series devices have stuck to a 90Hz panel for years now.

The camera island on the rear has a 50MP main camera with the same Sony IMX766 sensor, with the details on the other two cameras missing. The Reno 7 Pro impressed us with the same camera sensor and we expect nothing less from the Reno 8.

Sadly, there is no information on what sort of chipset will power the Reno 8. The Reno 7 Pro used the Dimensity 1200-Max chip and Oppo would certainly prefer upgrading to a newer chip for the Reno 8 generation. It also remains to be seen as to whether this becomes the Reno 8 Pro in more markets, or will there be a beefier version of this one with a different design!

At the moment, the Oppo Reno 7 Pro is available at a price of Rs. 39,999 for its base variant, while the standard Reno 7 starts at a price of Rs. 28,999.
