Samsung Galaxy M42 5G appears on Google Play Console ahead of official launch

Samsung will launch Galaxy M42 5G in India tomorrow. Ahead of the official launch, the handset has appeared on the Google Play Console. The listing reveals some specifications of the upcoming phone.

According to the listing (via 91Mobiles), Samsung Galaxy M42 5G comes with 6GB of RAM and Android 11 out-of-the-box. Already, Samsung has confirmed the phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor. It is also confirmed to come with Knox Security and Samsung Pay.

Older leaks have said the phone will have a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display. Other features expected are a 48-megapixel camera and a 5,000mAh battery. The handset is likely to be available for ₹20,000- ₹25,000.

According to reports, Samsung Galaxy M42 5G will be a rebranded version of the Galaxy A42 5G.

The Galaxy A42 5G had launched in October last year. The handset featured a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with HD+ resolution. It also supported an on-screen fingerprint sensor.

The 5G phone had four rear cameras featuring a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, it had a 20-megapixel selfie camera.

For performance, the phone used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G processor. It was available in 4/6/8GB RAM versions. The phone had 128GB of built-in storage. It also supported additional storage up to 1TB via a microSD card. It packed a 5,000mAh battery with 15W charging support.
